Our Accomplishments and Goals

Section 1: What have we (TFI) been doing?

  1. TFI restructured the board and created new positions with specific titles and job descriptions for all needed functions of the house corporation.
  2. TFI created a website designed to both disseminate information to the Graduates and collect information from our Graduates.
    1. Graduate Registration & Database
    2. Discussion Boards
    3. “Grads Near You” feature (if using Mozilla Firefox)
    4. Alumni Focus
    5. Happy Birthday and Anniversary announcements
  3. The TFI board has worked to establish a Tech Fiji Alumni Association with the two pronged focus of:
    1. Bettering the Chapter
    2. Fostering the axiom that Pig Gamma Delta is truly “Not for College Days Alone” in our Graduates. (Regional Alumni events/meetings in Knoxville and Huntsville, AL)
  4. TFI has expanded its current Online Donation Programs to offer more options and flexibility to our Graduates.
  5. TFI has successfully transitioned a new TFI President and TFI Treasure.

Section 2: What is our long term goal for the house corporation?

  1. A new fraternity house for the Theta Tau Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta

Section 3: What are our short term goals, which will help us achieve our long term goal?

  1. Increase in Graduate involvement (Friend-raising initiatives)
  2. Increase in financial support (Fund-raising initiatives)
  3. Improve financial stability
  4. Improve the relationship with the Undergraduate Chapter
    1. Create a since of ownership in the minds of the undergrads toward the chapter house.
    2. Assist the Chapter to maintain and improve current graduate relations initiatives.

Section 4: What are our measurable outcomes?

  1. 100% of the TFI board vacancies filled by Pig Dinner 2008 (PD08)
  2. Five (5) Gradate Brothers serving as Graduate Advisors to the Chapter by PD08
  3. Three (3) Area Coordinators by PD08. Two (2) of which who organize at least six (6) events/meeting in their area per year.
  4. Increase the percentage of Online Donation Club Members from 2% of Graduate Base to 8% by PD07 and 10% by PD07. (Current Graduate Base is 403.)
  5. Establish a reserve fund that is at least 10% of our Gross Revenue by PD08
  6. Increase the percentage of TFI/TFAA Website “Registered” Graduates from 47% to 60% by PD08.
  7. Speak at a Chapter meeting and Pledge Class meeting at least once per semester; introducing the functions of the house corporation, executive board members, and key goals for the semester, year or beyond.
  8. Hold an annual meeting for the purpose of soliciting recommendations and identifying needs of the undergraduates to better provide a facility that will be competitive in amenities and offerings.

Section 5: What MUST the Graduate Brothers DO for us to accomplish these goals?

  1. Give Time! Each of you should thoroughly look over the available support positions for an area in which you could be an asset to the organization and contact the appropriate person(s) to get started.
  2. If you don't have time to give; give money! The accomplishment of our goals is going to take both people and financial resources. If because of your present situation, you are unable to provide yourself to the Fraternity, we ask that you make a donation to the house corporation. This will allow those who can give time to move forward with all due diligence toward their perspective tasks.
  3. Register on the TFI/TFAA website and encourage others to do the same.
  4. Spread the word. Share this information with Graduates who were not able to be here this weekend.

Section 6: What MUST the Undergraduate Brothers DO for us to accomplish these goals?

  1. Address the small problems around the house before they become large problems.
  2. Take special care of the current Chapter House. We know the house is old, but a lot of the damage is due to plain old neglect.
  3. Help us get the word out. Some grads may not be able to make Pig Dinner, but most of them get the GEF; ask TFI if there is anything that we would like to include in the publication.
  4. Be open to the new Graduate Support. If the Graduates come through on their part, the Chapter will start to see a lot more guys getting involved and willing to help. Welcome them in. Let them know what is needed of them, and how they can help.
