Mission Statement

The mission of the Theta Tau – Fiji Scholarship Foundation is threefold:

  1. To reward undergraduate brothers who devote their time and effort into following the five values of Phi Gamma Delta.
  2. To provide a means so that graduate brothers may give back to the Theta Tau chapter of Phi Gamma Delta in which they became a part of during their college years.
  3. To movitivate and encourage current undergraduate brothers to excel in all aspects of college life and to follow the three priorities of scholarship, fraternity, self.

The foundation exists solely to benefit undergrate brothers who spend their hours working for the fraternity and pursuing academic excellence.  All proceeds shall go directly to undergraduate brothers with specific instructions as provided by the benefactor.

Individual or multiple graduate brothers may submit a scholarship foundation form creating a scholarship which undergraduate brothers may apply to receive. The scholarship foundation form may limit applicants based upon guidelines specified in the form (GPA, college hours completed, college major, etc.) but may not discriminate based upon race, color, national origin, disability, or age.

The duration for which the scholarship is provided may also be detailed in the scholarship foundation form.  The scholarship may be extended for one semester or for the duration of the applicants undergraduate college career.

There shall be no maximum or minimum monetary limit placed upon the scholarship provided by the benefactor.  The amount is purely up to the decision of the individual or group of brothers providing the scholarship.

The scholarship chairman of the Theta Tau chapter shall receive all applications from current undergraduate brothers and shall distribute the applications which meet the criteria expressed by the specific scholarship guidelines placed on the scholarship foundation form.

“Phi Gamma Delta exists to promote lifelong friendships, to reaffirm high ethical standards and values, and to foster personal development in the pursuit of excellence. Phi Gamma Delta is committed to provide opportunities for each brother to develop responsibility, leadership, scholarship, and social skills in order to become a fully contributing member of society.”

Bobby Adams 2Below, I have tried to compile a list of possible questions that you may have about the scholarship foundation.

What will my money be going towards?

The money that you donate will go to help an undergraduate brother based upon the criteria that you have placed within your Scholarship Foundation Form. That money may be applied to the undergraduate brother however you wish. For example, you may pay his dues for two semesters or you may reimburse his college tuition up to $500. That is the beauty of this foundation. The money goes exactly where YOU want it to go! When will this foundation begin funding undergraduates? The foundation shall be distributing sholarship funding to undergraduate brothers beginning in the fall semester. If however, the benefactor (you) decide to change the date of when the scholarship begins, then that would be your decision.

What if I want to pair with another brother to create scholarship?

The scholarship may have as many people donating to it as you can find! You can form a group of two, three, four, or more brothers to fund the scholarship. When the applicants turn in their applications, the appropriate ones meeting your guidelines will be forwarded to whatever contact info you list on the Scholarship Foundation Form. You may even list multiple contact infos if you wish several people to receive a copy. The decision that the group makes based upon the applications you receive will then be communicated to the winning applicant.

Will my money be spent on other areas of the chapter?

No. The money that you donate will be spent ONLY where you specify. If you specify only the individual, then only that individual will receive the money. The option exists for extra money from reimbursements to be deposited into general chapter funds, but that will only occur if you select that option in the Scholarship Foundation Form.

Any other questions may be submitted to the contact info below and you shall receive an answer as quickly as possible. Also if you have any ideas for the foundation, those are welcome too! Please remember that the foundation exists to help give back into the fraternity that has blessed us all!
